The following article was published on the Newcastle Herald on November 3rd, 2018.
“SAILING vessel Ruach will have an open gangplank on Saturday, offering the public free tours of the Youth With A Mission medical ship at Queens Wharf in Newcastle.
The ship has been docked in Newcastle since May, when it returned from a nine-month deployment within the Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea.
It was stationed with other YWAM medical ships in reaching remote coastal and island communities, including marine and primary health care training of locals.
YWAM Ships Newcastle has pushed the ship’s redeployment to PNG back until autumn 2019 to avoid sailing in cyclone season.
The ship permanently calls the Port of Newcastle home, and as part of an initiative to drive community engagement with the ship, YWAM will offer free tours on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.”
